Offsite prefabrication of reinforcing steels for concrete requires qualification of the weld procedures to BS 8548:2017. ASAMS has extended its accreditation to offer mechanical testing of rebar (reinforcing steel).
The accreditation covers the qualification of procedures and welders as well as testing of parent materials.
ASAMS is able to offer;
- Tensile testing up to 600kN, approximately 32mm diameter (tensile strength and maximum force only)
- Weld shear testing
- Macro testing
- Hardness testing
- Bend testing
