The Equotip hardness tester uses the rebound method to measure a materials hardness. It does this by firing a ball of known hardness into the materials surface and measuring the height of the balls rebound from the surface.
The Equotip is able to produce results in various scales including Vickers, Rockwell and Brinell. The machine can also read out in its own Leeb (HLD) scale which is material independent and can then be converted to other scales using tables provided.
Equotip hardness testing can be carried out in-house or the unit can be hired with full training provided. Equotip hardness testing is not covered by our UKAS scope of accreditation. Please contact us to discuss our rates for testing and hire.
The user manual for the Equotip 3 hardness tester is available below.
