ASAMS are pleased to announce the launch of a new series of consultancy sessions, each designed to focus on a specific aspect of welding and metallurgy. The first session will take place on 27th March 2025 at the Kingsgate Centre in Great Yarmouth, with a focus on simplified heat input control in manual and semi-automatic welding.
The first session is free to attend, both in person and online and will be presented by Kevin Millican, ASAMS consultant and Chartered Engineer. Kevin has over 40 years of experience in the Oil & Gas, Renewable Energy (Wind, Geothermal, & Hydrogen Production), and Nuclear industries, bringing a wealth of expertise to the table.
Follow-up sessions in the series will include:
- Standard Parameters & SWIS Cards – An easier way for everyone?
- Steel Metallurgy – Interstitials – A deep dive into the effects of carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, and oxygen.
- LTCS Charpy Toughness Considerations – Trouble getting good results at -50°C or below?
- Using EEMUA 235 to Determine PWHT Thickness Thresholds – Is your client still stuck on 20mm?
The first session is set to take place on Thursday 27th March, arrivals and refreshments from 10:30 AM and start time of 11:00 AM and will run until 12:30 PM. The session will conclude with networking opportunities and for those interested a site tour of ASAMS testing facility.
