In 1998, ASAMS acquired the rights to manufacture, sell and service the OIS System 3 underwater magnetic particle inspection system which had been developed to comply with the requirements of det Norske Veritas for underwater magnetic particle inspection and which had been marketed for nearly 20 years by OIS Engineering. The company holds an extensive range of spares/parts available for 'ex-stock' delivery and is currently building full systems for both sale and for hire. Repair/service of customers' systems can be carried out 'in-house' by experienced, dedicated technical staff
Investment in research and development has resulted in the company producing:-
- a new 12 volt DC battery powered underwater magnetic particle inspection system which does not require any umbilical connection to the surface;
- a 12 volt DC electromagnetic yoke for use with both the ASAMS System 3 units and with the new 12 volt system;
- 24 volt DC underwater ultraviolet light and electromagnetic yoke for use either with surface power/control or for ROV use.
